Visual Design
Illustration • Branding • Wedding Invitations • Identity Design • Packaging
Before I became a UX Designer 8+ years ago, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design. During this program I was trained in color theory, typography, motion design and illustration. Here are some samples of graphic design work that I’ve done. On rare occasions I still freelance on little fun projects like logos or wedding invitations but I much prefer digital design these days.
Eat As Promised - Whole Foods
I created this layout for Whole Foods ‘Eat As Promised’ website campaign for Oregon in 2013. It served as the homepage image for eataspromised.com The logo was created out of cornmeal using a paintbrush. Illustrations are by Colby Brooks.
Four Generals Brewery
I took on this branding project for a brewery my friend was opening in Renton, WA. He wanted a brand identity that reminded him of the outdoors and the beauty of the PNW. I took inspiration for this branding from project from old National Park logos, then I added a more modern geometric flair.
Mountain Wedding Invitations
I received three requests for wedding invitations with mountains during the same year. I worked with each couple to match the color scheme and overall feel that they wanted for their invites.
The Kickstand Cafe
The Kickstand Cafe is a hypothetical bike repair shop and cafe based in Bellingham, WA. For this project I created a logo, letterhead, business card, brand messaging, screen-printed shirts, exterior signage and an iPad website.
